Andhra officials stop development works in Kotia, lodge complaint against contractor

Koraput, May 19: Officials of Andhra Pradesh have stopped development works in Odisha’s Kotia on Thursday. A handful of Andhra officers have opposed the pipe line network executed by Odisha under the Basudha Yojana at Neredibalsa , one of the Kotia group of villages in the afternoon. Sources said, a contractor was digging trench for setting pipe lines under the Basudha scheme of Odisha government in the Neredibalsa village. Meanwhile, a team of Andhra officers reached the spot and opposed the excavation work, demanding the concerned road as Andhra’s. Besides, they lodged a complaint with the Odisha police against the contractor on the charges of illegal excavation of Andhra sponsored road. Worth mentioning,  it is the first incident in the Kotia group of villages in Odisha when Andhra Pradesh government’s representatives forcefully stopped welfare works barging into the Odisha’s own territory.
