Bhubaneswar, Sep 10: Days after Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik formed his new team with the appointment of 12 new vice presidents, dissatisfaction is brewing across several leaders.
Ahead of the rural poll, political parties have started gearing up for the election and strengthening their organizational structure at the grass root level. However, Congress seems to be witnessing infighting and political disgruntlement days after the formation of the new committee.
Congress made the committee and appointed 12 leaders to it as vice presidents, 20 general secretaries, and 48 secretaries. The appointment of the new office bearers has also failed to please everyone as several leaders accused a group of leaders of showing favouritism.
Some party leaders alleged that Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka and his father are members of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). However, three more members of his family have been named in the news team. Besides, the Biswal brothers are also the target of the leaders.
They also accused that PCC president’s son has been named in the new committee, while the party has side-lined senior and experienced leaders.
Further, the leaders, who are not happy with the party’s revamping, accused Niranjan of favoring his close associates and sidelining Late Lulu Mohapatra’s camp.
