Bhubaneswar, September 19: All the district headquarters in Odisha will have medical colleges, said state Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Thursday.
In a bid to make it convenient for the patients, the Health Minister said that the state government will build medical colleges in all the district headquarters in Odisha in five years.
On completion of 100 days of the BJP government led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha, health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said, “As part of 21 promises made by the BJP government led by CM Mohan Charana Majhi, the state government will establish medical colleges in every district in five years. The blueprint in this regard has been already prepared”.
Speaking on the project, the Minister said that after assuming office in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has framed the rule to set up medical colleges in every district. Accordingly, the state government will set up medical colleges in the state.
It is pertinent to mention that eleven medical colleges have been operating in the state. There is a need for several medical colleges to mitigate the demand of the state.
