Puri, July 29: The high-level monitoring committee has decided to employ advanced scientific technologies to address various issues surrounding the Ratna Bhandar of Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, informed the chairman of the monitoring committee Justice Biswanath Rath today.

These doubts include the existence of multiple rooms or tunnels in both the inner and outer chambers of the Ratna Bhandar. Following extensive discussions, the committee resolved to seek assistance from the latest scientific technology, said Rath.

Accordingly, a request will be made to the state government through the management committee to grant permission to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct the investigation, he added.

Post removal of the ornaments, the empty chests and cupboards will be relocated. The administration will determine the appropriate storage for these old chests and cupboards and will repair them if necessary, Rath said.

The committee stressed the importance of carrying out repairs without disrupting the rituals and darshan of the holy trinity. To ensure this, they will seek suggestions from the Chhatisa Nijoga, Rath added.

Upon completion of all repair work, necessary arrangements will be made to count the treasure. The state government will also be requested to implement changes in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to facilitate this process, Rath further added.
