Aditya Kumar Mohapatra appointed judge of Orissa High Court

New Delhi, Nov 3: The President of India today appointed Advocate Aditya Kumar Mohapatra as the new Judge of the Orissa High Court, Cuttack. “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, to be a Judge of the Orissa High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,” an official notification said. The lawyer’s name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in a resolution on September 29. Three other names recommended by the Collegium in the same resolution had already received clearance from the Centre on October 13. The Orissa High Court is currently working at a strength of 17 judges as against a sanctioned strength of 27.
