Mumbai, May 14: Renowned actress Tabu has been confirmed for a pivotal role in the highly-anticipated streaming series 'Dune: Prophecy'. This upcoming series, serving as a prequel to Denis Villeneuve's blockbuster film 'Dune' (2021), is set to captivate audiences with its rich narrative.
Initially titled 'Dune: The Sisterhood', the series, as reported by 'Variety', has been in development since 2019. Drawing inspiration from the novel 'Sisterhood of Dune' by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, it promises to delve deep into the expansive universe created by Frank Herbert.
The official synopsis outlines the premise: set 10,000 years before the events of 'Dune', the story revolves around two Harkonnen sisters battling formidable forces, laying the foundation for the enigmatic Bene Gesserit sect. Tabu will portray the character of Sister Francesca, described as a compelling blend of strength, intelligence, and allure.
