Udala, July 20: The investigation into the death of ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra has intensified with the cops reaching out to the late ACF’s wife Bidyabharti. On Tuesday, Bidyabharti was interrogated by the Gajapati police for seven hours straight.
Besides, the deceased’s wife the police also grilled family members of Bidyabharti. During the interrogation, the police seized a bank passbook and two mobile phones.
Bidyabharti has accused his late husband of having extra-marital affair. She also refuted the charges levelled against her by her in-laws.
A six-member of Parlakhemundi police team reached Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj and started a probe into the death of Soumya, who succumbed to the burn injuries last week.
The deceased’s mother on Monday alleged that her son and daughter-in-law had no physical relation even after around eight months of their marriage. She also said that his son frequently raised his voice against his wife’s non-cooperation. It resulted in serious misunderstandings between them and once she was also traced at Gajapati DFO Sangram Sekhar Behera’s residence.
On the other hand, the father Abhiram Mohapatra met Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay and demanded lie detector test of his daughter-in-law, Gajapati DFO, and the cook.
