8-year Odia girl Aradhya's rare achievement in mountaineering: Climbs six up-hills in Himachal, Ladakh

Bhubaneswar, June 29: Aradhya Jena, an 8-year girl from Odisha has achieved a rare feat in mountaineering. She has ventured a strenuous up-hill journey, climbing as many as six tough mountains of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh recently. Aradhya is the daughter of nationally acclaimed Odia mountaineer Ganesh Jena According to Ganesh Jena, Aradhya in her first attempt climbed as many as five hills in the Himachal valleys on June 13 and June 22. Aradhaya touched the peaks covering a hill twice with ease. Beginning her climbs from the Baralachala, Bharatpur and Yunum basecamps, Aradhya achieved her targets with the guidance of her father. {"id":193942,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Expressing his joy over his kid’s first success, ace mountaineer Jena said that, Aradhya is the youngest mountaineer in the Nation. Based on her record, she will apply for the India Book of Record. She will be encouraged to climb other tough hills in the future with his able guidance and training, he added. On the other hand, Aradhya, a student of STD-IV, is very much excited to take on challenges in the future to pave her way as an ace mountaineer.
