Bhubaneswar, April 13: The capital city is celebrating its 73rd Foundation Day in a low-key manner owing to Covid-19 restrictions today.
All the streets and government offices will be illuminated on the eve of Capital Foundation Day.
According to reports, garlanding will take place in the morning and 13 eminent personalities will be felicitated in the evening.
The Khordha district administration, the Capital Day Celebration Committee have been conducting programmes in a grand way. However, with the increasing number of covid cases in Odisha, like the previous year, this year also the committee has decided to cancel the programme.
On April 13,1948, India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone for Bhubaneswar.
