46 Odia migrants stranded in Andhra Pradesh return Odisha

Athgarh, May 28: As many as 46 migrant workers who were stranded in Andhra Pradesh due to lockdown have been brought back to Odisha on Friday. All the Odisha based workers have reached Athagarh in a special bus today after the assistance of the Minister for Civil Supply Ranendra Pratap Swain. Sources said, the labourers had gone to Andhra Pradesh few months ago. However, they were stranded there in worries during the second wave of Corona. Spending many days in hunger, they beg assistance of the Food Supply minister. Acting on it, a special bus ventured to bring them to Odisha on Wednesday and brought them back to village today. However, the returnees will undergo Covid testing after which they will be sent homes, said a health official of Athgarh.
