28 places in Odisha record maximum temperature above 40°C

Bhubaneswar, April 24: Odisha continued to reel under intense heatwave as 28 places recorded 40 degree Celsius or more on April 24. Sonepur was the hottest place on Sunday with a maximum temperature of 43.8 degree Celsius followed by Bhubaneswar which recorded maximum temperature of 43.3 degree Celsius. The other places which recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and more included Angul (43.1), Talcher (43), Bolangir (42.3), Jharsuguda (42.2), Boudh (42), Sambalpur (41.7), Titlagarh & Dhenkanal (41.6), Nayagarh (41.5), Cuttack (41.1). “Maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5 °C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and there will be no large change over Coastal Odisha during next 2 days and also no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” said a Met official.
