Bhubaneswar: As many as 21,824 migratory birds, both country and foreign, were witnessed in the Ansupa Lake and other wetlands under the Athagarh forest division in the first-phase of counting conducted on Friday.
The birds were marked in all five forest ranges under the division. Enumeration is being done by 85 teams of enumerators. Each team comprise forest officials, wildlife experts and nature lovers. More than 400 people have been engaged in the enumeration work.
It may be noted enumeration of winged guests is also going on Banki forest division. Besides, counting is also going in the Chilika Lake.
