Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: At least 20 police personnel, including two IGPs will be awarded the Governor’s Medal for the year 2024.
The cops will be felicitated on the Republic Day celebration, for their commendable public services.
In the category of ADGP/IGP/DIGP, Himanshu Kumar Lal, IG of Police, Eastern Range, Balasore and
Shaheen Ahmed K, IG of Police, CID, CB, Odisha, Cuttack will get the gallantry awards for their commendable jobs.
Similarly in the category II (SP/AIGP/Commandant/Deputy Commandant),Jagmohan Meena, SP Ganjam and Manas Ranjan Garnaik, SP Sambalpur is going to be awarded with the Governor’s Medal.
Similarly, in Category III (ASP/DSP/Assistant Commandant), Udaybhanu Mishra, ASP, BPSPA, BBSR and
Manas Ranjan Garnaik, ACP, UPD, BBSR, in category IV (Inspector/Reserve Inspector/ Subedar Major/Subedar), Anila Anand, Inspector of Police, CID, CB, Odisha, Cuttack Sabyasachi Malla, Inspector of Police, Pattapur police station, Ganjam Hemamalini Nayak, Inspector, Viigilance, Sambalpur Division are going to be awarded.
In category V (SI/Sergeant/Drill Sub-Inspector/Deputy Subedar),Dilip Kumar Nayak, SI of Police (Armed) ASAP, 4th Batallion, Rourkela, Jugal Charan Swain, SI of Police, UPD, Bhubaneswar, Sanjaya Kumar Pattanayak, SI, Vigilance, Sambalpur Division will be awarded.
In the category VI (ASI/Havildar/ Havildar Major), Bikash Kumar Patra, ASI of Police (Communication), Odisha Police, Signal Estt, Prajapati Meher, ASI, Special Branch, Odisha, BBSR, Prasanta Kumar Biswal, Driver Havildar, Puri will get this year’s Governor’s Award.
Similarly in category VII (Constable/Sepoy/Assistant Driver), Ramesh Kumar Sahu, Constable, (OR), Kalahandi, Sanatan Sahoo, Constable, Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack, Naresh Kumar Choudhury, Constable Jharsuguda, Biswakarma Munda, Sepoy/499n OSAP, 4th Battalion, Rourkela and Kedar Nath Mishra, Sepoy Sw, Special Branch, BBSR have been selected for the Governor’s Award, said the Home Department Sources.
