15 places in Odisha record temperature above 40°C , Balangir hottest with 45.3°C

Bhubaneswar, June 9: As many as 15 stations in Odisha recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and above on Thursday. Besides, two stations in the state recorded maximum temperature of more than 45 degree Celsius. While Balangir was the hottest place with maximum temperature of 45.3 degree Celsius, Titlagarhwas the second hottest place with maximum temperature of 45.2 degree Celsius. The other places which recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and more were Baripada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Hirakud, Bhawanipatna, Malkangiri, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Deogarh, Nabarangpur and Nuapada. “ There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during next two days and slight fall by about 2 degree Celsius at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha thereafter,” said an official.
