Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: As many as 117 posts of teachers are lying vacant in higher secondary schools across Odisha, the state Assembly was informed on Wednesday.
In a written reply to a query by Mohan Charan Majhi, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that a total of 117 teachers post are lying vacant at 17 government higher secondary schools.
Of the total 117 vacant posts, Balasore district has 10 vacancies, Balangir has 1, Cuttack dist, which has been sanctioned 51 posts has 36 persons in position, while 15 are lying vacant.
Similarly, the vacancies in other districts are Khordha -33, Puri-15, Sundargarh- 11, Mayurbhanj-9, Sambalpur-6,Ganjam-8, Kendrapara-5, Phulbani-2, Nuapada-1 and Koraput-1.
Nuapada dist has one vacant post, while Phulbani, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundaargarh has 2, 15,6 and 11 vacancies respectively.
