Jagatsinghpur, Sep 16: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday apprehended Ramakanta Behera, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Baharana Circle in Jagatsinghpur district while demanding and accepting a bribe.
Vigilance caught Behera red-handed while receiving a bribe amount of Rs 4,000 from a complainant to submit an inquiry report in a partition suit filed by him and for issuance of separate RoRs (Pattas). The entire bribe amount has been recovered and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Behera from the disproportionate asset (DA) angle.
The investigation is in progress against the accused Behera.
