Youth arrested for duping people posing as political leader on Facebook

Sundargarh, Aug 9: A youth has been arrested on charges of duping several people opening fake accounts in the name of two prominent political leaders of the district, police said on Sunday. The arrested, identified as Aman Sharma of Ujjwalpur, had opened two fake accounts on Facebook in the name of youth leader Ajay Patel, husband of Sundargarh MLA Kusum Tete and BJP leader Tankadhar Tripathy and used to ask money on the pretext of helping someone in the city with an excuse that he was out of city. The incident came to fore when people contacted the two leaders and asked about the money who refused to have ever made such demands. Being apprised of the matter, the two leaders had filed two separate complaints before police. Police launched a probe into the matter and arrested the youth on Sunday.
