Khurda: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Yogi Adityanath today came down heavily on the State Government for disrespecting freedom fighters by not providing land for Paika rebellion memorial.
“Naveen Patnaik Government is disrespecting freedom fighters. It has failed to provide a piece of land for construction of a Paika rebellion memorial,” said the leader while addressing a public meeting at Nachuni in Khurda district.
Notably, the Central Government had written to the State Government to provide land for construction of Paika rebellion memorial near Barunei Hills. But nothing tangible has happened as yet.
He also criticised the State Government for not joining the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat and also for lagging behind toilet construction.
Earlier today, Yogi also addressed a public meeting at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Bhawanipatna and also offered prayers at the Manikeswar temple.
At the Bhawanipatna meeting, the saffron-clad leader lambasted Naveen Patnaik Government for failing to provide houses to poor people.
“In 19 years of rule, the State Government here has constructed only 17 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. But Uttar Pradesh Government has already provided 20 lakh houses to poor people in only two years of BJP governance under the same scheme,” said Yogi.
He also asserted that if BJP is given a chance in Odisha, the State will witness a high growth rate like Uttar Pradesh.
