Woman stages demo demanding arrest of man for beating dog to death in Odisha

Rourkela, Feb 29: A woman today staged a demonstration near Udit Nagar Fitness Park demanding arrest of a man who beat a dog to death. The woman identified as Subhashree sat on a demonstration with her friends demanding arrest of the man. “The man beat the dog to death few days ago at Koel Nagar and subsequently I lodged a complaint with Jhirpani police station. But the police is yet to initiate action again the man which forced me to stage a demonstration,” said the woman. Earlier in November a cab driver was arrested by Chandrasekharpur police in Bhubaneswar for allegedly killing four puppies by running his car over them. Kanhu Charan Giri, an Ola driver, was arrested based on a complaint filed by ‘People For Animals’ – an animal welfare organisation.
