Bhubaneswar: Deaths of people due to snakebite seem to have become a regular occurrence in rural areas of Odisha for the last two-three days.
A day after six persons died of snakebite at different places in the State on Sunday night, another such report has come to the fore where a woman and her son died after being bitten by a venomous serpent in Kandhamal district.
According to reports, the mother-son duo was sleeping in their house at Tapara village under G Udayagiri block on Monday night when a snake bit them. Though they were taken to a hospital, doctors could not be able to save their lives.
A pal of gloom has descended in the village following the news of deaths of the mother-son due spread.
