Winter session begins with somber note: Odisha assembly condoles the death of three former members and a policeman

Bhubaneswar, 13/11: The winter session of the Odisha today began with a somber note with the House condoling death of its three former members and a policeman, who laid down his life to save public life and property. Silence for one minute was observed to show respect to the departed souls. As soon as the session began today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved the condolence motion for the former MLAs Saura Mallick, Udit Pratap Deo and Brundaban Patra, who passed away recently. He also condoled the death of Odisha police employee Jayram Kawasi, who sacrificed his life to save the public life and property. Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik, Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra, CPM MLA Laxman Munda and Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro expressed their grief, following which the House observed silence for one minute as a respect to the departed souls.
