White tiger ‘Subhranshu’ dies in Nandankanan zoo

Bhubaneswar: White tiger ‘Subharnshu’ died at Nandankanan Zoological Park today. He was suffering from liver-related ailments for the past one month.

He was born to Manish and Sneha at the Nandankanan on July 28, 2014. The death of the white tiger has brought down the total number of tigers in the zoo to 25.

Zoo Director Jaynat Kumar Das said that the health condition of ‘Subhranshu’ deteriorated on Saturday and he had stopped eating food. He died at 10.15 am today.

He was being treated by veterinary doctors. At present the zoo has 12 male and 13 female tigers.

In August this year, tigress ‘Priyanka’ died at the zoo due to old age-related ailments.
