Bhubaneswar: After violence marred his road show in TMC-ruled West Bengal yesterday, BJP national president Amit Shah said that even such instances are not seen in Naveen Patnaik-ruled Odisha.
In a press conference in New Delhi, Shah said, “There different Government in different States. But the violence the TMC is unleashing in West Bengal is unfortunate. TMC is choking democracy. Even in Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha such instances are not sighted.”
Shah’s remarks came a day after the vandalism in Kolkata road show.
Shah today squarely blamed the Trinamool Congress and its chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, for what he termed an attack on him during a road show in Kolkata on Tuesday and accused them of being behind the destruction of a statue of reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in a college.
