Angul, May 30: A herd of 25 wild elephants were seen crossing Aunli river in Angul district this morning. The herd has been creating panic in Nuagaon, Dangapal, Karnapala, Nuapala and other nearby villages under Chhendipada forest range in Angul district for the past many days. Although forest officials are making effforts to chase away the elephants to deep forest, they are finding it tough as they are roaming scattered. People of the area are living in a state of panic as the wild pachyderms are entering into human habitats in search of food and eating grain and cooked food stashed in houses and have damaged acres of crop in the fields. wp:video {"id":46925} /wp:video
