Nayagarh: Voting was cancelled in a polling station in Nayagarh district after complaints of malfunctioning electronic voting machine surfaced.
Polling was cancelled in booth number 210 set up at Bahadajhola in Nayagarh district, informed Nuagaon BDO.
Sources said though polling officers trying to fix the problem but they did not succeed resulting in cancellation of the polling in the booth.
Polling is being held in five Lok Sbaha constituencies and 35 Assembly segments coming under the parliamentary constituencies (PCs) today in the second phase.
The voting has been delayed at some polling stations due to technical glitches in the EVMs in Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Nayagarh districts.
A total of 76.93 lakh voters, including 39.45 lakh male, 37.47 lakh female and 560 third gender electorates are eligible to cast their votes in this phase.
At least 9,117 polling stations have been set for the purpose. A total of 35 candidates are in the fray for the five Lok Sabha seats while 244 candidates, are contesting for the 35 Assembly seats.
