Bhubaneswar: The results of the News7 pre-poll opinion drive “Vote Odisha” has revealed that a tripartite struggle among the BJD, the BJP and the Congress would be witnessed in the ensuing Assembly elections due by May.
Of the total 147 Assembly seats, there would be contests between BJD and BJP in 103 seats. Struggle between BJD and Congress would be witnessed in 40 Assembly segments while fight would be noticed between BJP and Congress in only one seat. However, there was no clear result on the three other remaining seats.
Results for all the 147 seats were published today.
Notably, the “Vote Odisha” drive began on February 20 and concluded on February 22. After filling up the forms, voters had put opinion sheets in the ballot boxes.
As part of the drive, specially designed vans had moved in villages and conducted the survey. A ballot paper carrying seven questions was given to each intending voter.
Questions like, “What should be the qualification of candidates”, “Whether you like a clean and educated candidate”, “Are you satisfied with the performance of the present elected representative” was given to voters during the drive.
