Bhubaneswar: In a major embarrassment for the State Government and Board of Secondary Education (BSE), reports and visuals of family and friends passing on answer sheets to their wards in the annual high school certificate (Matriculation) examination came on Monday from Dhenkanal district.
The incident happened at Palasapithia Ghada Panchayatiraj High School in Bhuban block where parents and relatives scaled boundary walls of the school to provide answer chits to their children.
Despite presence of police, people were seen entering the exam centre. Later, police used force to chase them away. Today, students were appearing for English paper conducted by the BSE.
Meanwhile, BSE president Jahan Ara Begum said that every possible measures will be taken to strengthen security at these exam centres. The administration will impose prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC near such cenrtes to avoid congregation of people thereby preventing them from entering the centre premises.
