Sambalpur: A day after the government served show cause notice to the director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Dr Aswini Kumar Pujahari for his alleged unethical clinical practices and asked him to go on leave, the junior doctors association, which had been on cease-work agitation since November 19 today called off the strike and joined duty.
The junior doctors had ceased work demanding his removal from the post of director. They also lodged a police complaint against him for his alleged misconduct and unethical practices.
The government yesterday served show cause notice to Dr Pujahari and directed him to remain on leave till his reply is received and disposed by the State Government.
The action came after the inquiry committee indicted Pujahari for his alleged unethical clinical practices.
The probe committee found him guilty for allegedly applying edible salt on a cancer patient during surgery.
