Padmapur, Sep 5: Residents in Luharkota village under Padmapur sub-division have set an example after they took it upon themselves to repair a bridge pooling in fund and manpower.
According to reports, a bridge over the Surangi nullah was build years ago. However, both sides of the bridge were washed out due to flood triggered by heavy rainfall. The connectivity to the village was disrupted after the bridge was washed away.
Later, the local residents they took it upon themselves to repair the bridge and completed the work within two days.
Worth mentioning, as many as 1500 persons reside in the Maoist-dominated village, which does not have proper road connectivity. Besides, the village lack in basic facilities including education.
