Villagers gherao Khordha Collectorate protesting encroachment of farmland by OTV MD

Khordha, Sep 26: Hundreds of people of Sarua, Jayamangal and Goudaput villages today gheraoed the Khordha Collectorate protesting land grabbing in the area by OTV Managing Director Jagi Mangat Panda and her goons. The villagers alleged that Panda and other OTV employees had purchased land in the area alluring the villagers few years back. Later, they constructed buildings, boundary, pond and road grabbing the adjoining farmland of the villagers. They have encroached acres of land of the villagers who find it difficult to go to their farmland for cultivation and threatening us with dire consequences, alleged the protesting villagers. The villagers have sought interference of the district administration in the matter to make the area free from encroachment.
