Bargarh, July 2: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday raided several places, including the residential house and office of Bargarh excise superintendent, Makardhwaj Barge, on charges of amassing disproportionate assets. Simultaneous searches were conducted at his office and residences at Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepue, Sambalpur and Burla. The Vigilance sleuths conducted raids at five places in Dungurupali area of Subarnapur district. Simultaneous searches were conducted at several places and further investigation is continuing. We are ascertaining the actual income of the official, said a sleuth. He also said the income of the official would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and actual income.
