Uproar in the assembly again for the second day over growing crime against women; House adjourned till 12 noon

Bhubaneswar, 14/11: The assembly proceedings were stalled for the second day on Tuesday  over the issue of rise in crime against women. The House was adjourned till 12 noon as the Opposition members stormed the Well of the House demanding suspension of the Question Hour to discuss the burning issue. As soon as the assembly met this morning, Opposition members trooped into the Well of the House demanding suspension of the Question Hour and adjourning the proceedings to immediately take up discussion on the all important issue of rise in atrocities on women, especially the mysterious death of death of Dharmasala PEO Smita Biswal in Jajpur district. The opposition members raised slogans in support of the demand and thumped the Speaker’s podium disrupting the Question Hour proceedings. However, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro rejected their demand for suspension of the Question Hour. As the noisy scenes continued making it difficult to run the House, Patro adjourned the proceedings till 12 noon to restore normalcy in the House.
