Two from Odisha arrested in West Bengal with explosives

Bhubaneswar: The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) seized 1000 kg of explosive substance from two people of Balasore district.

The Potassium Nitrate was stashed in 27 gunny bags.

Acting on a tipoff, the West Bengal STF raided a truck which was en-route to West Bengal from Balasore, at BT Road under Chitpur police station in the West Bengal late Friday night.

During search, 100kg of potassium nitrate was found stashed in 27 gunny bags. The STF arrested Indrajit Bhui and Padmolochon Dey who travelling in the vehicle from Balasore to North 24 Parganas district.

The arrested duo hails from Melak village under Basta police station in Balasore district. They will be produced before Bankshall Court today.

The STF is now investigating the source of the explosive substance and its destination.
