Two BJP legislators, Jayanarayan Mishra and Nauri Nayak booked for misbehaving Sambalpur ADM and defying Covid-19 norms

Sambalpur, July 28: Police today booked BJP legislators from Sambalpur Jayanarayan Mishra and Nauri Nayak, legislator of Rengali for misbehaving with ADM Sambalpur and violating Covid-19 guidelines. Both the legislators had a scuffle with the police while trying to barge into the Collector’s office today alleging district administration of not conducting sensitisation of the town properly. Restrictions have been imposed on people visiting the Sambalpur Collectorate till August 31 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic “They were requested not to enter to the premises in huge number and were requested to obey the guidelines of COVID-19. Police also persuaded them to maintain social distancing and asked them not to enter inside the premises without any prior permission of the competent authority,” said a police official. The agitators did not pay any heed to the request of the police and tried to enter inside the premises forcibly. “While police obstructed them, they used force and forcibly entered in the premises by using obscene languages. The agitators entered to the office of ADM Sambalpur without obeying the Covid guidelines, and misbehaved with ADM him in filthy languages while he was discharging his official duty,” added the police official. A case against both the legislators has been registered with the Sambalpur Town police station under sections 143,188,447, 332, 353, 294, 269, 270, 336, 506 and 149 of IPC and other sections of Epidemic Disease Act.
