Tribal delicacies, culture and lifestyle on show at Exhibition Ground

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: Tribal delicacies at the food court pulling crowd in the ongoing Adivasi Mela 2020 that witnessed 2 lakh visitors yesterday. Tribal cuisines of 13 states are available at the food court along with Odisha tribal delicacies. {"id":25447,"sizeSlug":"large"} “As many as 262 stalls have been set up at the ground while tribal from 12 states are also serving their traditional food at the stalls. As many as 70 CCTVs have been installed at the venue as safety measure. People can visit the Mela between 2 pm and 9 pm,” said an official. The Mela kick started at Unit IV IDCO Exhibition Ground on January 26. Officials said that more than 1.5 lakh visitors thronged the Mela on the first day. {"id":25448,"sizeSlug":"large"} Model ethnic settlements of various tribal communities of the state have been one of the major attractions of the annual Adivasi Mela. From colourful mud houses with thatched roofs to bamboo adornments of tribal communities, their cooking methods, agricultural process and interior decors of houses representing their lifestyle far away from the hustle and bustle of the capital city. {"id":25449,"sizeSlug":"large"} The 15-day fair, which had started in Cuttack in 1951, is being held in the capital city since 1982.
