Cuttack, March 13: The State transport Department has decided to make transactions relating to Government revenue and service charges in SARATHI portal for LL/DL related services through online mode only from March 16. Officials said that the decision for only online mode was taken after the online payment in Sarathi portal has reached 92 percent for the whole State in the month of March from a meagre seven percent in August. “As a part of 5T initiative of State Government to provide improved service to the public, single receipt system for both Govt. dues and charges of concessionaire for all kinds of Driving/Learner License related services under SARATHI portal was introduced through online mode w.e.f. 16.12.2019,” said an order of the State Transport Authority (STA). The order further said that the online mode of payment has helped in reducing the long queue in RTO office counters for making payment and resulted in improved user satisfaction. “The applicant can fill up the application form online, upload the documents online, pay the fee online and book the slot for the LL/DL test online. The stakeholder is not required to visit RTO Office to submit application for LL/DL and payment, by which his valuable time is saved,” added the order.
