Top Maoist leader Poga Surin surrenders before police in Sundargarh

Sundargarh, Jan 30: Top Maoist leader Poga Surin today surrendered before the police. Police said that Surin was involved in a number of cases of Maoist violence in Odisha and neighbouring states. According to a press release by Rourkela police, Surin , a resident of Sonapi village in Jharkhand has joined the Maoists group under Misir Besrain the year 2014. Later he left the organisation to look after his parents and worked in factories. However, her again joined the organisation in 2018 and remained active in Jharkhand and Odisha. Police said that Surin will get all benefits as per the government’s rehabilitation scheme meant for surrendered Maoists.
