Bhubaneswar: Intense heat wave conditions continued to hit the normal life in the State as the mercury soared above 40 degrees Celsius in 13 places with Bolangir recording the hottest place at 46.3 degree Celsius.
Mercury crossed 46 degree Celsius mark in Bolangir (46.3) and Titlagarh(46.5) today. In 13 places, temperature crossed 40 degree Celsius mark while more than 45 degree Celsius was recorded in three places –Talcher (45.7), Jharsuguda (45.2) and Sambalpur (45.2).
The capital city Bhubaneswar sizzled at 39.5 degree Celsius and its neighbouring Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 40.5 degree Celsius, respectively.
The regional IMD centre said heat wave condition is likely to prevail in some parts of the state over the next couple of days.
