Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning saying that thunderstorm, and lightning strikes may continue at one or two places in 12 districts till 5 pm today.
“Light thunderstorm/lightning and light to moderate rainfall likely to continue at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jajpur and Cuttack between 2 pm and 5 pm,” warned the latest IMD bulletin.
Meanwhile, people of the State got some respite from sweltering heatwave even as parts of the State received rains.
The local IMD also predicted that the southwest monsoon was likely to hit Odisha within seven days. Usually, the monsoon in Odisha arrives after eight to nine days after its onset in Kerala. The monsoon has already hit Kerala on Saturday.
