Thunderstorm and lightning for 21 districts alert till 5 pm today

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm and lightning may prevail in at least 21 districts between 2 pm and 5 pm today, warned the regional Meteorological Centre.

“Moderate thunderstorm/lightning and light to moderate rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri between 2 pm and 5 pm,” said the latest MeT bulletin.

Meanwhile, the average rainfall of the State on Saturday for the last 24 hours was recorded at 1.9 mm.

The highest rainfall of 15.8 mm was recorded in Koraput followed by 13.0 mm in Malkangiri, 8.5 mm in Nawarangpur, 5.6 mm in Kalahandi, 5.3 mm in Ganjam, 2.2 mm in Boudh, 2.1 mm in Rayagada, 0.7 mm in Balangir, Khordha and Nayagarh, 0.4 mm in Bargarh, Gajapati & Kendrapara, 0.3 mm in Kandhamal and 0.1 mm in Jagatsinghpur.
