Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Budget Session of the State Assembly, Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma today reviewed the security arrangement.
A three-layer security arrangement has been made for Odisha Assembly session starting tomorrow, informed Sharma after taking stock of the security preparedness here. The DGP visited the Assembly premises and also the Dharna site.
He said that at least 28 platoons of police force will be deployed along with 90 senior officers and a tactical unit.
The stretch between Assembly and the Dharna Place will also remain under CCTV surveillance, added Sharma.
The Budget Session of Odisha Legislative Assembly would start from June 25. Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari would present his first Budget for 2019-20 FY on June 28.
This will be first full Budget of the Naveen Patnaik Government after it voted to power for fifth straight term.
The interim Budget for the current fiscal was presented by the then Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera in view of the national and Assembly elections.
The Session would continue till August 8 in two phases. The first phase would be held between June 25 and July 3 and the second phase from July 11 to August 8.
