Third-phase polling begins in 6 LS, 42 Assembly seats in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The third phase voting for six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats began at a total of 10, 464 polling booths at 7 am this morning. The voting will continue till 5 pm.

The six Lok Sabha seats are Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri. As many as 61 candidates comprising 55 males and six females are in the fray. Similarly, 356 candidates are facing polls for 42 Assembly seats in the third phase today.

As many as 92,56, 322 voters comprising 47,99,030 males, 44,56, 629  females and 1163 third gender people are expected to cast vote to elect representatives. About 1, 58, 485 voters with disability are included in the electors’ list

Out of total 10, 464 polling booths, 3, 186 are found to be critical, according to the State Chief Electoral Officer.

While CCTVs have been installed in 779 booths, webcasting facilities are available in 260 and videography would be done in 372 polling stations.
