Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appealed to all educational institutions to hold a two-minute silence on Saturday to remember the victims of the ghastly terror attack on CRPF jawans in Pulawama in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon.
The CM urged the institutes to hold the silence prayer at 11 am.
Two Odia CRPF jawans among nearly 40 jawans were martyred in the terror attack.
Havildar Prasanna Kumar Sahu (CRPF 61 Battalion) of Shikhar village in Naugaon block of Jagatsinghpur district and Constable Manoj Kumar Behera of Ratanpur village under Niali area in Cuttack district among nearly 40 CRPF jawans were martyred on Thursday after an IED blast by terrorists struck a bus in which the jawans were travelling in near Goripora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier in the day, Patnaik spoke to the bereaved family members of two martyrs Prasanna Sahu and Manoj Behera over telephone and conveyed his deep sympathies and also announced Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia each to the family members of the two jawans.
