Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed at the CET College chhack on the Jatni-Bhubaneswar road on the city outskirts here as locals sat on the road demanding construction of barricades on roadsides and sides of a bridge there this morning.
Notably, two persons were killed as a car in which they were travelling fell off a bridge to a 15-ft-deep ground at the CET College chhak late on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Jitendra Nayak of Kalapathar and Guru Narendra of Narasinghapur in Cuttack district. They were staying in Saliasahi area in Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, they were returning home after visiting Ganesh pandals in Jatnai when the driver lost control over the car.
While the agitating villagers have demanded administrative officials come to them and assure them in written of early steps for construction of barricades, police have reached them and are trying to placate them.
