Kendrapara, Feb 24: The Kendrapara vigilance on Monday arrested a senior clerk of Mahakalapada Tehsil for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribery of Rs 1,000 from a person. The arrested has been identified as Chandrakand Hansda. According to reports, Hansda had allegedly demanded Rs 1,000 to a brain tumour patient, who was granted Rs 35,000 by the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for treatment. The complainant had approached the anti-corruption bureau alleging that Hansda had demanded Rs 1,000 from him to release the sanction money. Acting on the complaint, the vigilance team led by Kendrapara vigilance DSP SN Rayguru, conducted a raid and nabbed the clerk. The anti-corruption sleuth also searched various documents at Handa’s office.
