Bhubaneswar: After the party Angul district unit president Bhagirathi Pradhan was arrested and sent to jail in connection with the violence that erupted near Kanjara in the district after tigress ‘Sundari’ allegedly killed a man of Tainsi village on October 21, the BJP today decided to depute a team to Satkosia for a detailed investigation tomorrow.
Party vice-president Samir Mohanty told reporters here that a team of BJP leader will visit Satkosia for a detailed investigation on locals being arrested after on charges of unleashing violence due to the death of a man allegedly killed by tigress Sundari.
Claiming that police were arresting locals is an act of revenge, Mohanty said the team will submit its report to the party State unit president and follow-up action will be taken accordingly.
Notably, around 30 persons have been arrested in connection with the violence.
On October 21, one Trinath Sahoo of Tainsi village under Satkosia forest division was allegedly died in the tigress’ attack. On September 12 too, another woman was also allegedly mauled by the tigress.
