Bhubaneswar: The Sundargsrh district administration will soon send a team to Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh to rescue all labourers who have been kept hostage in a brick kiln there now.
According to reports, a four-member team led by DSP Damodar Majhi has already been formed for the purpose. As many as six migrant labourers have bben made hostage by the brick kiln owner, said reports.
Reports said that the State Labour Commissioner has also written to his AP counterpart for safe return of the Odia labourers.
It may be noted that two Odia labourers had been attacked with acid in Vizianagaram a few days back. One of them, who belongs to a village of Sundargarh district, is reportedly undergoing treatment at the VIMSAR, Burla now. The district administration has provided Rs 25,000 to him from the Red Cross fund.
