Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader Subash Chouhan, who was recently appointed as the vice-president of State BJP, today resigned from the party after being denied ticket from Bargarh parliamentary constituency.
He has sent his resignation letter to party president Basanta Panda. Chouhan, who had lost the Lok Sabha polls by a margin of 11,183 votes, was a strong contender for the Bargarh seat. However, the party named Suresh Pujari as its nominee for the Bargarh Lok Sabha seat.
Following the denial of ticket, the supporters of Chouhan targeted the State BJP leadership. Later he was offered the party’s State unit vice-president position. However, he humbly denied the position.
