Beware violators of quarantine; You will lose Rs 2,000 quarantine allowance and also face stringent actions

Bhubaneswar, May 3: Odisha government today warned stringent action against migrants returning Odisha not following prescribed routes and people violating norms at government quarantine centres. Financial assistance of Rs 2,000 will not be provided to people violating quarantine norms as announced earlier and legal proceedings will also be initiated against them. This announcement was made by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy during a press briefing in Bhubaneswar today. wp:video {"id":40740} /wp:video “People violating quarantine norms at government quarantine centres at their respective districts will be shifted to quarantine centres in other districts. Besides, duration of quarantine will also be extended for the violators,” said Tripathy. Government has taken the stringent major after several incidents of violations were reported in various quarantine centres across the state. In some of the instances, people have also been nabbed while escaping from quarantine centres. Earlier, the state government has announced financial assistance of Rs 2,000 for people completing mandatory government quarantine.
