State govt advises people not to get panic to visit general hospitals

Bhubaneswar, April 7: The state government today advised the people not to get panic about COVID-19.

Addressing a press conference here state health secretary N B Dhal said that seven designated hospitals are being set up to exclusively treat COVID-19 patients. Already three hospitals have been operational in twin city.

Meanwhile, two corona positive patients have recovered and one more patient who is being treated at Capital Hospital was tested negative. He is likely to be discharged after the second test.

However, no COVID-19 patients are being treated in SCB Medical College and Hospital and City Hospital in Cuttack and all district headquarters hospitals across the state. So, the general patients should not be scared to visit these hospitals.

If any person experiences flu like symptoms then he/she can call 104 and contact the doctors there over phone there. He/She need not to go to the hospital straight. If necessary, his or her sample will be tested.

Till then he/she should stay at home. If he/she tests positive then he/she will be admitted in the dedicated COVID Hospital, he said.

The health secretary congratulated the doctors and paramedical staff on the occasion of the World Health Day today for their dedicated service.

Director Medical Education and Training Dr CBK mohanty also spoke on the occasion.
